30th Annual Antiques Show This Weekend
This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday marks the 30th year for the Nantucket Antiques Show. Again this year, the show will benefit the Nantucket Fire Department. The location of this show is Nantucket High School, located at 10 Surfside Road.
The three-day show will be kicked off on Thursday, August 9th with its annual preview party from 5:00pm until 7:30 pm, where you may enjoy a raw bar, hors’deouvres, lots of good company and an opportunity to see many wonderful antiques. The preview parts offers a first-look at the antiques offered during the show. Admission to the preview is $50, and it is recommended that you make reservations by calling 757-220-0400. The regular show and sale hours are Friday and Saturday, August 10th & 11th from 10:00am until 6:00pm and Sunday August 12th from 10:00am until 5:00pm. Admission to the show on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is $10. The show and sale will be back at the Nantucket High School, located at 10 Surfside Road, Nantucket, MA.
This year’s show will host more than twenty-five dealers from all over the Northeast and Europe. They will offer a range of beautiful antiques. Vendors will offer antiques from the eighteenth, ninteenth, and twentieth century, and their wares will include furniture, paintings, prints, lighting, jewelry, oriental rugs, and more. Dealers will be available all three days of the show to answer questions and explain the rich history of their items.
The Nantucket Fire Department’s response area is 45 square miles, encompassing the Island, County, and Town of Nantucket. The Department has twenty-one full time personnel and twnety on-call personnel responsible for the island's Fire and EMS service. The department is solely responsible for the island’s Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance Service. They respond to more than 3000 calls per year. All contributions and funds raised from the event will be used to help the Nantucket Fire Department better serve the community.
