Nantucket New School Hosts Ping Pong Tournament

The Nantucket New School (NNS) will host a Ping Pong Tournament on Friday, April 13, 6:30 to 9 P.M., at 15 Nobadeer Farm Road.  The event is being sponsored by the parents of NNS’s sixth-grade students and they encourage any Nantucket middle-school students to participate.

“We’ve been looking for ways to connect our students with other island middle-school age students,” said organizer and NNS board member Criss Troast.  “This seemed like a great solution to bring other students to our school and offer them all something different and enjoyable.”

There will be a singles and doubles draw for Ping Pong.  Troast stressed that no previous ping-pong experience is necessary. “It’s really just about having fun together with no pressure.”  In addition, pizza and drinks will be provided.

Students from other island schools will be asked to bring a permission form signed by their parents in order to participate.  The forms will be available in advance from the Cyrus Peirce Middle School, and the Nantucket Lighthouse School, and at the NNS administrative office at 15 Nobadeer Farm Road.

For more information about the Ping Pong Tournament, please call the Nantucket New School at 508-228-8569.

Nantucket New School is an independent, co-educational day school serving students in pre-school through grade eight.  NNS educators and parents believe that a small school is uniquely equipped to meet the individual needs of students and their families.  Founded in 1985 with six families, the Nantucket New School now serves about 100 students.  Information about admissions is available at www.NantucketNewSchool.com.
