New Trophies for Race Week on Exhibit

To the delight and benefit of sailors, Alastair Crawford has combined two of his passions—silver and sailing—to create two new trophies for the IOD Celebrity Invitational held during 2007 Nantucket Race Week, August 11 to 19.

Exquisitely crafted in polished and matte silver, the perpetual trophy and the 2007 winner’s trophy are exact half models of the graceful IOD sailboat. They are on display in Alastair Crawford, LLC until it comes time to award them next week.  Stop by the shop, open daily at 3 Old South Wharf, to see these beautiful works of art.

The eight days of regattas, awards ceremonies, and parties that make up Nantucket Race Week is hosted by the Nantucket Yacht Club and the Great Harbor Yacht Club to benefit Nantucket Community Sailing.  Sailors of all levels, from weekenders to grand prix racers enjoy this week of sport.  Last year, more than 1100 sailors and 200 boats participated.
