High-Energy Dance Comes to Nantucket
This Monday and Tuesday, August 18 and 19, Wileymac Productions LLC is bringing Alvin Ailey II, a division of the renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, to Nantucket High School! The electric, high-energy dancing of this troupe is world-renowned. According to the Salt Lake Tribune: these dancers “straddle the ground between the theatrical and the artistic with full-throttle dancing...and hard-earned technique.”
The event is in celebration of Nantucket's Historic Unitarian Meeting House, as well as 50 years of Alvin Ailey Dance. Tickets to benefit the Meeting House are available at The Hub. Other tickets are available at Nantucket Bookworks, the Sconset Market, The Camera Shop, and at the door the evenings of performance. The last Alvin Ailey performance on Nantucket, two years ago, quickly sold out.
