Born Again Baldwin Brother to Speak
Fresh from his successful run in Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” actor Stephen Baldwin comes to Nantucket to share his life-changing story. He will be “Telling It Like It Is” at the Nantucket High School Auditorium on Thursday, June 19th at 7:00p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
The youngest of the Baldwin brothers acting clan, Baldwin is one of the few Hollywood actors versatile enough for key roles in everything from The Usual Suspects to Bio-Dome. A Massapequa, NY native, he gained notice in his teens as a successful opera singer before pursuing acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Not long after, he was busy with roles in both film (Posse, 8 Seconds, A Simple Twist of Fate) and television (The Young Riders). Baldwin has appeared in over 60 films and been featured on such top-rated television shows as Fear Factor, Celebrity Mole and Ty Murray’s Celebrity Bull-riding.
He has his own production company that is developing projects for television and the big screen. He is active in charity work for the AIDS Project Los Angeles, the Carol M. Baldwin Cancer Research Fund, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation and still finds time for such varied hobbies as billiards, sky diving, and super-bike racing. Baldwin makes his home in upstate New York with his wife and two young daughters.
After seeing how his Christianity changed his wife, Kennya, Baldwin himself became a Born Again Christian shortly after the September 11 attacks. Since his conversion, he has been involved in spreading the Word through speaking engagements and projects such as The Breakthrough Ministry and his book The Unusual Suspect.
Good humor and intense faith characterize Baldwin’s speaking style. Baldwin’s appearance is the fourth annual event sponsored by Spiritual Heritage Nantucket, a non-denominational group of local and summer residents whose mission is to build and encourage the Christian community.
