Circus Flora
by Zoë Kirsch
Circus Flora returns to Tom Nevers fields this weekend with an exuberant and colorful story set in Medieval England called “Sherwood Forest.” This year’s Robin Hood-themed show, includes three high-flying trapeze acts: the venerable and always entertaining Nino the Clown; The Flying Cortes, famous for their heart-stopping triple somersault, and new act, Duo Madrona, a couple who perform an intricate acrobatic dance high above the crowd.
Also new this year, is an act called The Poemas, reknowned for their foot juggling skills. Carlos Svenson, Sweden’s premier equestrian and animal trainer, appears with his goats, and Lisa Dufresne performs with her world class Haute Ecole horse and “might mites” liberty ponies.
Circus Flora tickets are available at nantucketatheneum.org or at the Atheneum Box Office, 1 India St
