Be a Part of the Story
Storytime with a Princess is a unique "storybook to life" program offered by the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket, children become the actors and learn improv skills to bring favorite fairytales to life.
Children who would like to participate in telling the story on stage will purchase a "golden ticket" for $25 and arrive at the theater one hour earlier than the audience. They will be cast to recreate the roles in the story, and using costume pieces, makeup, and props, be transformed into their favorite characters. It’s an unusual opportunity for youngsters to have a direct connection to the performing arts.
Audience members will make their own crowns when they arrive at the theater, and will become part of the court. They will have the chance to participate in the story from their seats.
Face painting is available after the show for everyone.
Storytime with a Princess is presented in Bennett Hall of the First Congregational Church, 62 Centre Street. There are only four sessions left in this popular program: Monday, July 7 at 2 pm and at 5 pm, and Monday, July 14 at 2 pm and at 5 pm. Tickets are available online at www.TheatreWorkshop.com and at the box office: 508-228-4305.
