New Book Illustrates Island Lifestyle
The newest book by longtime year-round island residents Leslie Linsley and Terry Pommett has just been released. Part history, part interior design, part architecture, part island tribute, this handsomely illustrated book titled Nantucket Island Living gives an insider's look at the unique lifestyle of Nantucket.
Through 224 pages of text and photos, readers experience the restored historic homes of Nantucket town and of 'Sconset village, the appealingly humble beachfront cottages that dot the island's shoreline, and interiors specially designed to fit the character of the home. See the lovingly tended gardens, both formal and informal, that grace Nantucket's private houses and public buildings. The more than 200 color photos also beautifully illustrate the other attractions—panoramic views, seasonal celebrations, home-grown handicrafts—that make Nantucket such a rewarding place to spend a day, a summer, or a lifetime.
Leslie Linsley has written more than 60 books on crafts and home style including the classic, Nantucket Style and A Nantucket Christmas. Last fall, Linsley and Pommett teamed up for Key West: A Tropical Lifestyle.
