The shuttle buses are back! Visitors and residents can ride the shuttle around town, to Madaket, to Siasconset, to the Airport, and to beaches. Buses run from 7 am until 11:30 pm every day; Airport route from 9 am to 6 pm July 1 to September 1; Sconset via Polpis Road 10 am to 6 pm July 1 to September 1. Fares are $1 for in-town routes and $2 each way to the Airport, Madaket, and Sconset (exact change is required). Seniors over 65 half-fare, and children 6 and under ride for free. Seasonal beach buses will transport people to and from Jetties Beach for $1 each way and Surfside Beach for $2 each way (10 am to 6 pm, June 21 to Sept. 1). Bird s Eye View of Nantucket
You really haven t seen Nantucket until you've seen it from the Tower of the Old North Church, conveniently located at 62 Centre Street, just west of Broad Street. The enclosed 92-step climb has several stopping points for resting and a museum level with historic photographic displays.
