Special exhibit opens at Egan Maritime Institute in the historic Coffin School, 4 Winter Street. Visitors will learn about lighhouse dogs and Nantucket sea dogs. Photographs and paintings coupled with stories from islanders showcase seafaring dogs who work and play on Nantucket's expansive beaches and coast. Children will enjoy the seadog experience on a partial replica of a wrecked ship, where they can walk on all fours, smell the ship's galley, and find balance on their sea legs as they walk the tilted deck. |
